Details: The original Amistad Elementary will be replaced with a new 20-classroom building. The new building will hold students in kindergarten through second grade and will connect to a 22-classroom building for grades 3-5 that opened in August 2019. Amistad’s total classroom count will be 42 when Phase 2 is done.
Funding: The Phase 2 replacement will be paid for with local bond dollars and money from the state School Construction Assistance Program.

Location: Existing campus at 600 N. Arthur St. (Map)
Square Feet: 23,000 square feet of new classroom space
Details: The addition includes building 12 new classrooms (for special education, science, and career and technical education), adding parking and making several athletic facility upgrades, including replacing the existing grass field with artificial turf, replacing the track, adding restrooms, concessions and sports storage, refurbishing the tennis courts and adding two more courts. With the addition, the school will hold up to 2,000 students.

With the addition, the school will be able to hold up to 2,000 students.
